To Ipoh again

Since the three of us are still stuck here with nowhere to go, we decided to pay Ipoh another visit and taste up the legendary Ipoh white coffee. I'd been there for numerous time yet i still couldn't managed to try out the famous white coffee found in Ipoh old town. The last time i went there, the shop was closed. Due to my previous experience, i know i must be an early bird this time.

So, the three of us departed from Kampar at 9am and boarded an old bus to Ipoh.

This sign board was pretty cute huh? A bus with open door.....wu~~~

So, the bus route was pretty boring and this 2 guys just kept said that they were feeling dizzy. = = By the time we reached Ipoh, it's almost noon and i know i'm damn late again. We got on another bus to Ipoh old town for Rm0.8 and got down at the Indian Street. Big mistake. I've never been to the Indian Street before but i remember the coffee shop is just opposite this street. So i thought i might be able to found the right way but we ended up going in circle and wasted our precious times.

Finally, i gave up relying on my instinct and turn to the local for help. Saw this coffee shop which the local claimed that it's neither much different from the one we're going.

When we got to our destination the place was already crowded. Since the coffee house i'm aiming for was closed again, we are left with no choice but to choose the alternative way which is by going to it neighbor. Luckily there're still back up for us. Since we are quite late, there's no sign of an empty seat. We stood there staring inside the coffee shop and i decided not to wait but to fight for a seat. I went in and was quite lucky to found ourselves a place inside(with boxes pilling up beside us). Then we waited for the waiter/waitress to clean up the table for us. Is like about 8 minutes more after we are seated and only then the waitress came to take ours order but she left her table-cloth on the table for like minutes. What is that???? Is like assuming us to clean the table ourself. She came back 'few' minutes later (after the ice melted and dripped on Scott) and wiped the table.

Well, if is not for the sake of the white coffee i'll left this place in no minutes. The coffee shop was so hot that is impossible to order for hot coffee. Coffee is best serves hot but despite the hot condition i'm in. I better get some ice-cold beverage to chills in and get my ass out of this place asap.

Nah, this is the famous white coffee which i'm still trying to figure out the reason why it got its fame. Someone forgotten to switch on his Macro, so the picture was blurred.

I'll said is just another bandwagon effect. Since i ordered for an ice white coffee, the aroma is not that strong(there's none in the coffee shop either) due to lower vapor pressure. Vapor pressure is the one responsible for the aroma. Higher temperature, higher vapor pressure, higher rate of evaporation, better dispersion of molecules in the air and so this lead to stronger or weaker aromas in the air. What the heck i'm talking about....sorry i'm out of topic.

So, how should i begin. Well, like i said. There's no sense of coffee's aroma unless you put your nose up close to the cup. Failing to stimulate my olfactory nerves is a big no-no but they are acquitted from serving me coffee with no aroma since i'm the one ordered for cold coffee. I would say the coffee was moderately well-made. What i means is at least i got a cup of coffee placed on my table. As for the taste, is kind of haha.....well you was put off by the slightly astringent effect in the back of my tongue. Feel like asking the waitress for more water or ice to dilute the coffee. The coffee is thick, heavy and flat in taste. Is definitely a little disappointing.

Okay, forget about the coffee. The fame Chee Cheong Fun was sold out too. No luck. Maybe next time. We order for noodles instead. This is the lady who's selling the Chee Cheong Fun. I request for a photo with her since she was young and beautiful. She said if i visit again the next time, she'll made sure her Chee Cheong Fun is still available for me. Hoho. Special treatment. Wakaka.

We went to Ipoh Parade after that. Took a photo with this statue and bought some hair accessories. Nothing much to buy actually.

and here's one 19 years old big brother spending Rm8 for 'Dan-Dan'.

Ah.....didn't get the desired character huh? Spent more money then. Hoho. We spent some times wandering around and decided to go back by 6pm. Reached Kampar before 9pm. Well, that's all.

Celebrating Dongzhi Festival~~~

Dongzhi or Winter Solstice you called it, is a day marked down on the Chinese Calendar to be spent with family. The main dishes you gotta have for this festive was 'Tangyuan'. This is a day should not be missed by every Chinese.

Although i'm stuck here in this alienated small town of Kampar and will only be back with my family unless i swim across South China Sea but still i managed to celebrate this festival with fellow friends. Forget exam and everything. We gathered together and made our own Tangyuan.

Initially the plan is to make a pot of Tangyuan and watch a movie together at night before 10pm. Then i get back home after that and continue with my preparation for the exam on the next day. But, it ended up slightly twisted from the original on to find out how it ended.

So, on the day itself i went to Spiky's house and helped with the ingredients. I know nothing about the process of making Tangyuan and was therefore assigned to the simplest task of all which is......

Shaving the apples bald.

I did a great job on that, dint i?

Apples. I know you're probably thinking 'What's the heck was apple doing there?' Well, simple. Since last year we already have Dragonfruit and Honeydew flavors for our Tangyuan so we decided to do a new flavor this year. Apple flavor! Cool huh? I bet no one have that. Anyway, the idea failed dreadfully and we ended up stuffing the apples into our mouths instead. So, dont try that at home.

As bad as it seems, i suggested one more stupid idea which further declared our failure. See this......

Instead of getting one nice pot of Tangyuan with apple scented aroma we got a whole pot of Tangyuan with floating chopped-into-tiny-slices-fleshes of apples.

'Whose stupid idea was that? I cant see the Tangyuan', said Spiky.

'Apple is rich in concentrated fructose sugar mar~~~so i tot maybe we can add some sweetness to our Tangyuan.', i defended my own idiotic act.

They didn't blame me for spoiling it and we made another pot of Tangyuan by

adding H2O and squeeze/punch the flour until its not sticky and is in a whole.

and roll it up into a small ball.

roll....and roll...and roll....

and you roll....
and roll.....
and roll......
and you roll.....
roll and roll.....

Yeah i know, that was pretty boring. Guess that's why some peoples start to get creative.

and there goes the copycat phenomenons

Spotted that Alien over there? I made that. I wanted to make a 3D teddy bear but i get a 2D alien instead. That just proven my art sense was so damn good i can beat the legendary famous Picasso. What? You do not agree with me? I can make one pretty nice 2D alien with tiny 0.5mm in length and 0.2mm in width tentacles from flour, can he?

After we're done with cooking our Tangyuan, we settle down for a movie. We watched 'Alvin and The Chipmunk' and the movie ended by 10.30pm. Instead of going back home to study for tomorrow exam i stayed for a game.

I tell you what. This is the longest stacker game i ever played in my life. You know why? Credit to this guy below....

So, i played the game until 2am.

Luckily the next day of my exam, god is by my side. I sort of like having a....erm....what we call it...synesthesia....i think. Is just like seeing the image, words, and letters of my lecture note hanging right in front of me. I can copy the information from the note generated in my brains words by words, letters by letters without even have to think. I just see it. In my brain. I'm quite shock when i start seeing the image of my notes in my mind so clearly that i thought i might have fallen asleep and was only dreaming. I slap myself on the face to make sure that i was not sleeping. Bet my apple flavor tangyuan was not a failure after all. ^_^

Celebrating Christmas```

Well, it'd been a while since the last time i came out with a proper blog post about myself. There're exam and lot of others stuff to dealt with. Now, exam is over and i'm finally free. I'm very confident with my papers for this semester. Hopefully there'll be some good news to announce here.

Yesterday was Christmas Eve and i'm celebrating mine with my friends at this little town of Kampar. I wonders how my friends at some others part of this earth celebrate theirs? Hey friends, mine telling me if you're reading this now??? Anyway, Happy Christmas to you guys and may all your wishes come true in near future. Of course, Happy Birthday to Li Yen. I know is late. I have this habit of forgetting birthdays. I even forget my own birth's day so bear with me. Haha~

So this cute little Santa here was a Christmas gift from Scott and Jing. Thanks guys. I likes it very much. The candy is so colorful, it light up the mood of my study desk. Wakakaka......

Too bad i didn't brought my gift in exchange for this Santa. Haha....maybe next time.

The Christmas for this year and last year were pretty different. Last year, weeks before Christmas i have to do a Talk Show for Public Speaking and on Christmas Eve the whole class decided to wore the Christmas Hat to lecture for one whole day. And on Christmas itself, i stay up whole night partying with my siblings, cousins and friends not forgetting exchanging gifts with fellow course mates too.

This year, Christmas fall on the same time as did our semester break. Apparently, everyones were back to theirs hometown left alone quietness and a smell of loneliness up in the airs of Kampar town. Despite these facts, still the warms of Christmas i felt this year was relatively same as last years.

The photos taken yesterday night are still with Spiky. I'll update it here as soon as i got it from him. Well, right now you just have to use your own imagination. This year, there're just the 4 of us. Me, Jing, Spiky and Scott. We decided to do a countdown at the lake of Kampar. So, before the countdown, me and Spiky dropped by a Malay stall and bought our foods. The boss was so nice he even treated us some kuih. Jing and Scott joined us later and we cycled to 7-11 to get our drinks. Off we went to Spiky house to collect the camera and Christmas hat.

By the times we reached the lakeside, lot of peoples were already there, mainly students and some local. We quickly marked down our territory, eaten our foods, and played with the snow spray. Peoples were staring at us since we're the only gang that got the snow spray. Hoho. So, we sprayed

and we sprayed

and we sprayed

and we sprayed.........

until......the spray bottles started generating bubbles instead of snow. Then, we sat down and i did some juggling with the empty spray bottles. Yeah, bravo!!! Now I've became a street performer. Jing were clapping and others were laughing.

Then, someone asked, 'What's next?'.

and Jing suggested, 'Let's play TRUE or DARE.'

I was quite reluctant to join in at first but despite the bandwagon effect, i finally gave way. The first unlucky guy was Scott and he'd chosen "DaRe". So, Spiky as the host dared him up on a quest. Is simple. He'll just needs to ride on his bicycle while ringing his bell and goes all the way up the lake greeting each strangers his met with 'Merry Christmas'.

Despite his shyness, i was quite doubtful whether or not he's going to make it. Then, to my inclined of disbelieving that he's going to make it. Scott went on his bike and face up with the challenge. Me and Jing were both laughing our heads off.

Then the next unlucky guy was Spiky. Scott revenged back by daring him up on another quest. So, the poor guy went all the way and sang a Christmas song to a group of peoples nearby.

Next up, Jing who chosen 'TRUE'. So each one of us used this opportunity to ask questions that cleared our dubiousness toward certain issues we never get the chance to figure out.

35minutes through the game, still i remained the luckiest one. No dare and No true. I laughed evilly and sparked the nerves of the rest. So, they decided to cast a new spell which only break when the evil witch repay for what she did to the innocent.

As magically as its sound, the spell worked immediately. I was dared to do a pole dancing. Some Indians guys were nearby so they gave me an exemption and let me answer some questions first.

Question from Jing, 'If you get to choose a guy from TE4, who will you choose to date?'
Answer from me, 'I'll choose Ragu, since he agree to whatever i asked him to do. Should be easy to bully and that'll be fun.'
The true is, 'Not even one guy from TE4.'

Question from Scott, 'If a muscular guy showed up of nowhere and asked you to squeeze his chest. Will you?'
Answer from me, 'Yes, i will. I love muscular guy.'
The true is, 'indeed i will but he must be a cute guy or else i'll kick his ball and see whether that part of his, is as muscular as he seems with his chest.'

Question from Spiky, '(Totally forgotten)'
Remind me.

We played the game for a few rounds and dared Spiky to greet 'Merry Christmas' to a Malay girl in a car. We also dared Jing to strikes 5 sexy poses

and finally my turn to do the pole dancing on hold just now. So i get to the nearest 'pole' i can find and danced. Some guys passed by kept staring back and laughed. They screamed for more but the remained energy were drained up. I was done and the game ended.

I got back home at 2am in the morning and went to bed with smile on my face. Merry Christmas everyone.

Lost in the woods...uh..oh~~

Few years ago, i'd picked up some nice tips on what to do when you got lost in woods during my National Service. Since i've mentioned about getting lost in my previous post, i guess i might as well share some more tips here.

So, what did you do when you found yourself circling and circling but still there's no way out?

1. Assess the situation
Take a few seconds break and try to remember where you came from before backtracking. If backtracking doesn't work, check if you have enough supply to keep you going. Then look at the sky, if it's look like a storm coming in or is getting dark, seek a shelter immediately.

Seeking for a shelter doesn't means you can go anywhere that look safe to you. Avoid areas with stones pilling and bamboo because these are the place where snake's nest lies.

2. Get notice

Universal distress call.

What the hell is it?

Three shouts or three whistle blows.

1 blow means "I'm lost"
2 blows means "I'm Coming"
3 blows means "This is an emergency" (Ouch~~~i cant bear the pain!!!)

Build a smoky fire in the day using lots of slightly damp leaves or make a bright fire at night.

you won't want to burn down the whole forest.

Okay then but how do i start a fire??? Using the solar energy to start the fire with a magnifying glass or by friction?

Nah~~~That're all craps!!! What if there's not enough sunlight? What if you doesn't have enough energy?

So, that're all crap and outdated. Now let me introduce you...This!!!

Starting a fire by using your cell phone. Yeah!!!! You read that!!! Your Cell Phone!!! Now don't play play when you're filling up your oil tank at petrol station. Follow the rule dude~~

3. Find your bearing
Even with no compass, you can still have a rough idea of where you're heading.

How then?

The answer is.....THE SUN

Sun always rises in the east and sets in the west.

Built your own compass. I got a video here. Check it out.

If you don't know how to use a compass. Sit there and wait for peoples(death) to find you.

If you don't know why the heck you are looking for north, south, east and west. Start praying and may god bless you.

P/S~ There're a hell lot other ways to identify your direction. Stars, Tree lodge, and so on. Find out yourself.

4. Mark your path
This way, you'll know whether you're going around in circles. Get something easily spotted from far to mark your path. Built a stone pile or anything. This will also help a search team to easily track you once they notice the pile.

5. Look for foods and water
Note in mind that anything in this world can be eaten. Even snake. It is only a matter whether you'll be off to meet Jesus or not.

So before you venture any further into the woods looking for foods, make sure you can always find your way back to your point.

So, how do i know this plant can be eaten raw?

Start by rubbing it on your skin. If it start itching, that means is not safe to eat it. If there no itching, chew it in your mouth and spill it out. If there's no sense of numbness, it might be safe to swallow. Swallow at your own risk anyway. So, is better to pick up some knowledge of wild fruits and edible plants before going into the wood.

Anyway, eating plant along is not enough as human cannot digest cellulose and plant did not provide much calories which are needed for energy. So, go ahead and play some hunting game. Hunt for animals and eat their flesh. Even snake.

Snake!!! Ew~~~I don't want to eat snake.

We have eel for sushi, snake meat is not much different.

So, how?

Catch it.
Kill it.
Hold it head down, tail up.
Cut the head off. Longitudinally.
Cut down the body.
Remove the venom glands.
Eat it.

Hope you'll be able to do so. Anyway, don't eat death animal because there're lots of bacterias on it.

Water can be obtained from barks and leaves of certain trees. I forgot how to identify the tree but i still remember at least you need a knife or 'parang' to cut it.

Water from stream or river can be drink after you boil it.

Alright, enough crap. I'm outta here.

Moving or stay or totally lost my mind.

I just don't have the mood to blog now but i'm doing so because i couldn't fell asleep. Might be the side effect from my daily dos of caffeine.

Instead of wasting my time lying on bed, wide eyes open, staring back at total darkness, i think is better for me to get up and do something more worthwhile.

Reading for instance, but not Harry Potter, of cuz. It's a page turning book that kept me from falling asleep.

Something is on my mind actually. Is about moving or not moving. If i move, there's this.....if i stay, there's this case......if i does move, then there's this case.....lalalala....lalala.....oh, forget about it.

Here, let me show you this. I found this place when i got lost. Amazing isn't it?

Believe me, is still in Malaysia. Nice right?

Hey, talking about lost. Are you guys afraid of getting lost? I'm not. I hate those who are afraid of getting lost.

Is like, c'mon, you're still in Malaysia, is just a small town, how worst can it be? So, why panic and sweat over a small deal?

Take the time to look around and you might found yourself discovering something unexpected, something that will amaze you, something that carve right into your memory which you shall never forget. I'll call that ' The Art Of Getting Lost '.

Lol.....seriously, i think i better go get some sleep.

I feel refresh!!!!

Is a great day today. I feel refresh~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Viola!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, well.....just watched 'The Proposal' with Spiky and Sau Ting. Is a good movie, we have a great laugh. Well, is good to start the day with big big smile on your face isn't it???

Anyway, i finally found the mood to start studying for my coming exam next week. I need text book now. Hey hey, friends out there who are reading this.......You know what to do.....

Yeah, i know I've been posting less and less photo to this blog. Here's one.

Hehe, that's what keeping me from going back to campus every Thursday night.

Is a good instrument to whack guy up when you're unhappy with them. Don't you think so?

I wont tolerate no more......

2 more points and Wong Mee Choo will close the game for today 'Woman's Singles semi-finals'. (Well, she already did while i was typing this)

So, my study week began today and i'm still reading 'Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallow'. Hohohoho......Thank to Spiky for borrowing me the book.

Mum was here at Penisular Malaysia but i'm not going up to meet her.

I'm a little bit unhappy recently. My emotion is kinda mess up. I cant put this into words. I needed some space of my own to breath. The atmosphere was so tense it kept me uneasy all the times. I feel like a string that's being stretched out to its limits.

I hate people who want to take advantage of me. I'm not a nice person i must say. I'm selfish. I wouldn't have tolerate more with you if not because of our friendship. For all the times, I've been the one tolerating with you and now just for once, don't you think is the time you take the turn from me??

I wont tolerate no more!!!!!

Are you a curious baby???

Housemate of mine throwing up a party yesterday night and today morning, one of the guy that went for the party asked me.......

'Hey! Why you didn't join in the fun? Why you didn't come out to greet me?'

I was like 'Duh~~~how on earth would i've expect you to be there.'

Now come to think of it....what's the heck am i doing yesterday night??? I totally have no ideas of what i'm doing. I know i've heard laughter and peoples singing yet i make no effort to find out about what's going on. I continues on what i'm doing and doesn't even bother about it.

Well, i tend to notice that i'm a little bit slow in reaction. The only reason i could think of if maybe i'm just too self-centered and is not curious toward what peoples said. I pay less attention to things that are unrelevant to me. Even when everyone turned theirs head to look at the poor fellow whom fall off the chair during lecture, i notice that i'm the only one still gazing up front.

Some peoples, they likes to bring up a conversation without clarifiying the exact message they want to deliver and they tend to let you to decode theirs message the way you want it. In another word, there are some masked message in the conversation they carry but they let you guess about it. Take a simple example, when girls are gossiping.

A said : ' Hey, you know ah....that girl the one that.....neh.....that one lar....'
B said : 'Know what? Which girl? What that one?'
A said : 'Neh...that thing know lar...that one..that one lar....'

and B will start making endless assumptions about 'who's that girl is' , 'what that girl did' and so on.....

Well, this is just a simple example. My question there really a need to be curious? I'm asking this because my friends complaint that i'm careless and too cold-blooded.

I'm not so sure about that but i did went online and read news everyday. Am i really that careless or just too mature minded? You tell me about that.
